How To Make The Internet Work For You

Keep Your Domain Name Safe:

What would you say if I told you I forgot where I opened my $5,000.00 Time Deposit and/or under whose name it was opened?

Well, you would be surprised how many people don’t know were their domain name is registered (registrar name), what the account's user name and password is or if the contact information is correct.

Remember...

  • Without access to the account, one cannot renew the registration or update the hosting location.
  • With outdated contact information, warnings about approaching expiration dates or transfer attempts will never reach the appropriate person.

Usually the domain owner discovers a problem when he/she needs to update the website, change the hosting company or when the domain registration expires and the e-mail accounts stop functioning.

Common reasons for these situations...

  • The domain owner didn’t receive or lost the domain registration information.
  • The last webmaster was not there to take care of the domain.
  • The contact information at the registrar was invalid or outdated.
  • The domain owner is not aware of the domain expiration date.
The solution is simple and quick, since domain registration is public record.

Follow these simple 3 steps to confirm your domain integrity:

Step One:
Verify that the domain registration information (WHOIS) is correct:

  • Registered with the correct name and contact information.
  • The expiration date is correct (matches what you paid for).
  • Registrar name matches your records.

Step Two:
Go to the registrar's website and verify that the user name and password allow you to login successfully into the account to manage your domain.

Step Three:
Safeguard the information in a place you will remember.
